Link\u00f6ping University (LiU<\/strong>), located in Sweden, ranks among the top 2% of universities worldwide and is globally recognized in several academic disciplines. It is placed in the top 100 for subjects such as telecommunications, healthcare, electrical engineering, materials science, and energy technology. With 44,500 students and 4,700 staff across four campuses in Link\u00f6ping, Norrk\u00f6ping, and Stockholm, LiU is a vibrant academic community.<\/p>\n

The university is internationally known for its boundary-breaking research and innovative education. It works closely with industry and society to address today\u2019s challenges and contribute to a better tomorrow. LiU actively supports innovation among researchers and students, helping them develop ideas into successful ventures. Its own business incubator has led to the creation of numerous companies in Link\u00f6ping Science Park<\/a> and Norrk\u00f6ping Science Park<\/a>, some of which are now world-leading.<\/p>\n

Each year, LiU invests \u20ac283 million in research and \u20ac197 million in education. It has hosted 30 prestigious ERC grantees and is home to leading European research infrastructure. The European Commission has selected LiU to host the AI Factory MIMER<\/a>, which provides resources for training, implementing, and delivering advanced AI models. Additionally, LiU operates the Commission\u2019s new supercomputer, ARRHENIUS<\/a>, which supports academic and industrial research projects across Europe.<\/p>\n

The EU Office at Link\u00f6ping University plays a key role in connecting the university with European institutions, networks, and partners. It amplifies LiU\u2019s voice in EU research and innovation ecosystems, fosters transnational cooperation, and supports societal transformation. The office also serves as a strategic platform for European dialogue and advocacy for academic freedom and scientific autonomy.<\/p>\n
