What do “alternative funding”, “combined funding”, “sequential funding” mean? In 2020 and 2021, UnILiON set up a Working Group dedicated to synergies, co-chaired by Aix-Marseille University and Ghent University Offices. The vademecum is based on discussions undertaken as part of the Working Group activities with a variety of representatives from the European Commission and best practices observed in several European regions and universities, including UnILiON member universities. It provides universities, R&I organisations and regional authorities with key to understanding the new possible synergies within the 2021-2027 programming period in order to implement cross sectoral approaches to benefit from new funding opportunities.
