Welsh Higher Education Brussels

Welsh Higher Education Brussels

Established in 2006, Welsh Higher Education Brussels (Addysg Uwch Cymru Brwsel) promotes the interests of all eight Welsh universities in Europe; encourages collaboration between researchers and other potential partners; facilitate stronger relationships between Welsh universities, European organisations and regional partners across Europe; and provides information to Welsh universities on European developments and opportunities.

Welsh universities have successfully engaged in European programmes and partnerships across a wide range of areas including life sciences, bioeconomy, health, low carbon, energy, advanced manufacturing, cyber security, food science, agriculture, design and languages. Welsh universities are interested in continued collaboration with European partners in Horizon 2020 and the future Horizon Europe programme as well as participating in Erasmus+ and European Territorial Co-operation programmes such as Interreg. Welsh universities also have experience of using Structural Funds to build capacity in research and innovation to enable successful competition for Framework Programme funding.
